Funky Art Queen Gets Tagged

Here is my husband....good sport as always...modeling my new apron that I made for the mixed media workshop next weekend. Let me know what you think. I think it needs something else....maybe something on the actual pockets? Anyway, bravo to my husband!

Renea from Pocket Full of Pretty's tagged me! I don't think I have been tagged in the 3 years I have had this blog. Apparently, it is the MEME tag game in blog world. Since Renea always says I'm all about Me Me Me....then this is right up my alley! Rules: 1. Link to the person that tagged you. 2. Post the rules on your blog. 3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself. 4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs. 5. Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

  1. I read a lot of self help-motivational-positive type books. They just really inspire me and help me keep the saw sharp as they say.

  2. I can't stand the feeling of kleenix rubbing together or someone putting it in their mouth....it is like the sound of someone running their fingers down the chalk board.

  3. My husband tickles my forearm for me almost every night to help me relax and go to sleep. We get in bed....watch some television....then when I'm ready to go to sleep....I flop my arm over there. He always takes that arm and tickles it like a good husband.

  4. My favorite meal in the whole world is a pot of pinto beans, "tators" cornbread with butter and a big old onion. Yummy! Good Stuff.

  5. I love to get one scoop of orange sherbert and one scoop of chocolate when I get ice cream. The flavor of orange and chocolate are so wonderful to me.

  6. I am night blind.....and hate to drive at night. I can't see very good. I wear glasses at night and that helps some but normally I don't go anywhere at night by myself for that reason. If I do, I have a driver!

Now, who should I tag.....hmmmm. I'm going to tag my sister who does not yet have a blog so I can't link her.....she can post her comments on my comments.

  1. Rhea....that would be you.

  2. Carolyn at Carolyns Days

  3. Carmen at Musings from a Mermaid

  4. Susan at A Walk In The Park

  5. JoAnne at Paper Cats Page

  6. BlueJade at BlueJade's Musings

Hmmm...is it "legal" to tag a nonblogger? lol Here we go with six absolutely useless facts about mememememememememememe:

1) I like for people to walk on the right side of me. I don't know why and it drives my husband absolutely crazy. If they are walking on my left side, I will speed up and cross so they are on my right side.

2) I constantly pop the big toe on my right foot. Every time I bend it, it pops.

3) I would rather go fishing than shopping.

4) I eat a bag of 100 calorie popcorn every night.

5) I wrote my wedding vows three years after we were married and gave them to my husband as part of his anniversary gift.

6) If I were filthy rich, I would go to bed every night on brand new sheets and donate the others to a shelter.

I could probably go on for days about my weird quirks but then you wouldn't want to be my sister anymore! lol Have fun sweetie! Love you, Rhea
Like the apron, but Hey Craig what's cookin? Lookin good! Hee Hee!! Hugs***Renea

GREAT job on that apron!! Aren't husbands so nice? It takes true love for a guy to model a ladie's apron - and pose for a picture!! He is handsome as ever! You could always give it (the apron) a spritzing of permanent spray-on fabric glitter!

Rhea, thanks for participating...send me the day old sheets. You always have the best sheets! Also, you pop your fingers a lot....not just your big toe! Sisters know these things! Heehee

That does it! I'm going to start incorporating my husband into my blog more....this is probably the most comments I ever got! Heehee
Hey sweetie girl, I gave you 2 awards, go to my blog & check it out. Congrats! xoxoRenea
Had to tell you... we do the relaxing-before-you-sleep, touch thing too--whether it's my arm or the back of my neck. Thought it was funny that we both need this to fall asleep, and aren't we so fortunate that they are so giving? It really is awful when hubby travels, for I'm wide awake past the late news hour, unable to drift off. LOL

Thanks for sending me the flickr message! Best wishes with your new mixed media classes... they sound fun!

Paper Flowers and Fabric Flowers

Well, I'm kind of in a creative funk again. I hate it when this happens! I'm so glad that next weekend I am going to Fredricksberg, TX again to the trade days. I know it will inspire me in all kinds of directions. Meanwhile, while I am trying to get my groove back........I have been making a lot of little short term projects in the paper department. I made this little posey pin from faux vintage post/letters etc papers from the scrapbooking department. I actually wore it yesterday on my jacket. Then I spotted this book on Fabric Flowers by Elizabeth Helene Searle at the fabric store and I had to get it. I used her instructions to make this first fabric flower. I want to try several of her other flowers instructions. Now, what will I do with them? Who knows? Does it really matter if I am enjoying myself? Probably everyone will get fabric or paper flowers for Christmas! Heehee Have a great day.

Laughing Out Loud

I still have some work to do on these paper mache letters. I finally found something to do with all the bits and pieces of things that I keep because they will be perfect for some piece of art.....some day. Today is the day! I really love this piece/grouping. LOL .....a good message don't you think? Go ahead, Laugh Out Loud.....it is very healthy and therapeutic. Today, I bought the soundtrack to Mamamia and I have enjoyed the heck out of it. I really enjoyed that movie. I have discovered that people either love it or hate it. I just think that it is so cool that Meryl Streep totally stepped out of her norm and went for the musical. She did a great job and I can't wait to see it again. It is a great girlfriends and sisters movie. I highly recommend that you go and get it and go to your girlfriends house and watch it and....oh....I don't know......LAUGH OUT LOUD! Let me know if you do and how it goes.

VILLAGE CLAY WORKS Another Artist Interview

I ran across this wonderful and whimsical artist several weeks ago when her work was featured on Etsy. I have enjoyed looking at her work and I know you will too. Meet Catherine Reece from Northern California. She is a creative woman who has been working in clay for over thirteen years. She was kind enough to let me interview her for this blog. Please enjoy. Tell us about who you are, what do you want to say as a statement about you? My name is Catherine Reece and I live in Dublin, California (just east of Oakland). I am married and a mother of two kids. I have been professionally selling my pottery for 8 years. I was waiting for my husband to graduate from design school and find a job while i worked and played with clay. Over a few years I began to build a small business selling my pottery. MY husband didn't find the job of his dreams and so he joined my in the studio as my partner. Now we make our living as artists selling pottery.I think I am still trying to figure that out. ...
