Funky Art Queen

I spotted this car in Midland,Texas a few weeks ago and I laughed when I saw it. I could not wait to tell my husband about it. I told him it looked like a green station-wagon on big wheels. I saw it again today and took this pic. Notice how they have it parked away from other vehicles so it won't get door dings! After some thought, I decided it really is not all that funny anymore. I applaud the person that came up with this vehicle. This is totally evidence of creative thinking. I love it. BRAVO to this person whomever it is. Who would have ever thought to put a station-wagon on this type of wheels and to paint it green? I love people who are not afraid to be different. 5 Stars for courage. Now if it just had a little step so I could get out of the thing without breaking any body parts! Heehee

Hello blog friends! Yes, I'm still here. I took this self portrait yesterday. I was going to send it to Cody via snail mail with my letter but hubby thought that was a bad idea so soon in the training. So, you get it! It has been a great week so far. I have felt so much better since we got a call from Cody on Friday of last week. He sounded so upbeat and happy. That did me and Craig so much good. Cody said he is the assistant dorm leader and he feels he is one of the best marchers. He told his father that he is appreciating life so much more and not just "sitting on my ass". He sounds pumped up about his Airforce training and that gave me such comfort. I continue to work on my metal, soldered, and found object jewelry. This is a picture of my current works in progress. What a great weekend this has been. Yesterday, (Saturday) Heather and I went over to Stanton Trade Days and shopped around most of the morning. She found some treasures and I was excited that she wanted to buy some old vintage photos because she wants to try her hand at art. Oh, that is so cool. So she bought three great vintage pics. I will scan them for her and we will experiment with some art. And.....look what I found! Look at these great gumball machines! I bought both of them for $20.00! I was so excited to find these. I have been wanting a gumball machine to somehow mount out by the pond with fishfood in it. I think it would be so whimsical and fun to be able to turn the little handle and get fish food. Little children should love this. I got up early this morning and I have already been out to my little garden. I collected a bounty of tomatoes and a few peppers. I'm thinking salsa today. I'm also thinking Sebastian has the right idea on how to spend the weekend. zzzzzz...

OK, this is my first garden ever and I am so excited that I have to share this with you. We had vegetable gardens when I was a kid-lots of times. The best meals were those with fresh vegetables from the garden. Cantelope, black eyed peas, tomatos, fried squash and fried okra (burned just a little on the edges like I liked it). My mom was always canning peas, beans, cucumbers (oh the bread and butter pickles were out of this world). So finally, after all these years of missing out on all that home grown produce, I decided I wanted to try my hand at a little gardening. When I say "little" that is what I mean. I knew I did not have time for a big vegetable garden since I work full time and have a 45 minute drive to and from work. I also knew that our soil in the back yard is horrible.
