If Friends Were Flowers

I would pick you!
I lost a "follower" today and I don't even know who it was. At first, I wanted to get my feelings hurt. Then, I thought about a converstation I had with my dearest friend today. We talked about how sometimes we comment and comment on some peoples' blogs and they never reply back and how this can hurt our feelings. We talked about "blogging without obligation" and how we are not all going to dig each other so much.
The cool thing about blogging is that we can filter through all the mess and find those people that we are compatible with. Then, we can develop these wonderful relationships with people who would have never met otherwise.
We will find ourselves digging some bloggers more than others and that is just the way it is. We are not all compatible. So, it is not about the number of "followers" you have, it is about the relationships we build because of this unique ability to connect with like-minded people. Just think, back before the internet, I might have been fortunate enough to find one person (just one person) who got me. That would suck. I love everyone but I don't always get everyone.

I know what you mean. I used to be such a blog whore! Ok, I still am, but just haven't had time to comment as much as I wanted. I do read them all though. I noticed my reader count drop considerably, but I can't blame them. This blogging requires lots of fostering, follow up and consistancy. I am determined to step it up again. I have had lots of inspiration thrown myway, and have been so grateful!

Saludos,

Yoli.
Sorry you lost a fellow blog follower. Is that a word...follower? Anyway, I love your blog & you! Talk to you soon, Love ya, Renea
PS==saw your pink little box, too cute! Hugs***Renea

I know EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN.
I've actually lost more than one follower, but I try not to sweat it. Same thing when I lose 'hearts' on etsy. I don't get upset anymore, though, because sometimes I'll filter through my favorites (when I have like 100 pages of them!) and it's not because I don't like that particular person or shop, it's just that I want a smaller list so I can find the one I'm looking for a bit easier. :) Does any of this make any sense???!! :):) Hope it makes you feel better....and just so you know, I get you. :)
Stop by if you want, I'm having a little giveaway. :)
Well, I loooove your blog :)

But you know, I realized that I have weird patterns in following myself. Some I follow thru my blogger, some thru myyahoo feed, some directly to email thru feedburner and what not. Sometimes, I stop following one in one of those ways because I've decided to follow them in another of those ways for one reaso or another. So it's possible you didn't lose them, but they just shifted to some other feed.

Just possible.

:) Lots of gooooooooooooooooood bloggy vibes to you!!!
miracles,

I know the feeling. I love the connections I make on here. Like you and the other artists I correspond with daily. I know very few artists in "real life". And I have been lucky to have my blog grow bigger than I imagined but I still know when someone stops commenting and I can't help but get hurt feelings. I guess we are all still that little middle school girl inside:)
~*That person left to make room just for me!===Thanks for keeping the seat warm for me ex-follower!*~
:oD

Hey, I'm glad you left me comment!
I was able to read your posts today!

Paper Flowers and Fabric Flowers

Well, I'm kind of in a creative funk again. I hate it when this happens! I'm so glad that next weekend I am going to Fredricksberg, TX again to the trade days. I know it will inspire me in all kinds of directions. Meanwhile, while I am trying to get my groove back........I have been making a lot of little short term projects in the paper department. I made this little posey pin from faux vintage post/letters etc papers from the scrapbooking department. I actually wore it yesterday on my jacket. Then I spotted this book on Fabric Flowers by Elizabeth Helene Searle at the fabric store and I had to get it. I used her instructions to make this first fabric flower. I want to try several of her other flowers instructions. Now, what will I do with them? Who knows? Does it really matter if I am enjoying myself? Probably everyone will get fabric or paper flowers for Christmas! Heehee Have a great day.

Funky and Proud

Just wanted to say a big thanks to all who responded to the last post. You are all so smart and insightful. I think after much thought and several good conversations with my friends, I feel better about this whole idea. My conclusion, I do many different things that fall under the "mixed media" category...even the jewelry. I have this never ending curiosity and desire to learn new techniques. Whatever I am working on at the moment is satisfying my creative cravings...if not, I don't do it. If I don't enjoy something....I don't do it. It is that simple. The "Funky Art Queen" thing? It occured to me that the people that would be put off by my d.b.a. would be those that most likely would not be drawn to my art in the first place. Thanks again. I just love every one of you. Next blog......not all about me I promise. HUGS

Melon Burst Pantone Quilt Challenge 2023

I entered my first quilt challenge this year! I was inspired by a friend of mine that had entered this challenge so I decided I would give it a try. The challenge is called Pantone Quilt Challenge 2023 and you can check out all the yummy shades of magenta at #pantonequiltchallenge2023 on Instagram. This challenge is hosted by  Sarah Ruiz of https://saroy.net/ and Elizabeth Ray of https://www.instagram.com/elizabethkray/?hl=en When I learned about the challenge, I headed over to Missouri Star Quilt Company online and purchased the Kona Crush for this piece. I was not sure what I wanted to pair it with for several days until I finally decided on several tones of greens.  So I started out with these pieces. I had always wanted to see how to make the flying geese in a curve. I managed to figure out a way by using wedged pieces in between each "goose"? I have since learned that there is another way by using Foundation Paper Piecing. All the things we learn with each quilt, right
