Finding Joy In Every Day

The other day, my daughter looked so sad to have to go to work-it was Tuesday. She told me she could not wait until the weekend. It occured to me that we all do this.....we live for the weekend. (Well not everyone-but I could relate to her feelings). I thought.....it is such a waste of 5 precious days to just try and get through so we can have our fun on the weekends. I reminded myself and Heather that life is so short.....we need to find joy in every single day...not just Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. So, I am going to focus on finding joy everyday. I am going to model that for my daughter and encourage her to do the same. Todays joys included an early morning walk with my dog Sebastian, cleaning the house to feel organized during the week, laughing with my husband and daughter at different times throughout the day and creating early this morning.

Assignment for you and I for this week: Find Joy in Every Day. I would love to hear about it.

You are brilliant, Your Majesty ! And what a fine example to set for your daughter - a lesson of a life time for all of us.

Today I found joy in my newly planted herb garden, in giggling and being silly with my hubby as we snuggled in bed this morning and in taking time to create in my art journal while it was gently raining on the big green outside my window.

In Joy !;-)
love Kim

That is such a wonderful ideal. We all take for granted about a day and we should find joy in every day.
I found joy in creating today. I was in a bad mood, for no reason except blame it on the weather. I went into my studio and was going to paint in black and gray and instead worked in pastel..Wonderful colors...Thank you for this ideal.

Today I found joy while sitting all day long in a garage during a moving sale....as boring as that sounds, Bone, Kat and I have had so much fun this weekend being goofy, laughing, and telling stupid little stories. I would recommend that every should have a good belly laugh every day! Thats what we try to do! And if you pee your pants, that is a bonus!!!! Love you!
This post is great reminder for all of us. I will find joy in each day, today oh the joy of getting ready for Mom & Dad to come, tomorrow the joy of teaching at my workshop, the joy of having great friends like you & Lisa. Love ya honey, oh and I agree with Rhea, if you laugh so hard you pee your pants then that's just a bonus! Ha! Renea

I found joy in getting my chores done earlier than usual, and having guilt free time to blog and create.

Paper Flowers and Fabric Flowers

Well, I'm kind of in a creative funk again. I hate it when this happens! I'm so glad that next weekend I am going to Fredricksberg, TX again to the trade days. I know it will inspire me in all kinds of directions. Meanwhile, while I am trying to get my groove back........I have been making a lot of little short term projects in the paper department. I made this little posey pin from faux vintage post/letters etc papers from the scrapbooking department. I actually wore it yesterday on my jacket. Then I spotted this book on Fabric Flowers by Elizabeth Helene Searle at the fabric store and I had to get it. I used her instructions to make this first fabric flower. I want to try several of her other flowers instructions. Now, what will I do with them? Who knows? Does it really matter if I am enjoying myself? Probably everyone will get fabric or paper flowers for Christmas! Heehee Have a great day.

Etsy Treasury

I got an ETSY Treasury today! Look what I made! Go and check out the real thing here, it took me an hour to figure out how to just get a snapshot for the above photo. Rediculous. YOu should be able to just have some html and share the dang thing! Anyway, here it is, I would appreciate any views and/or comments. Hugs

Some Work Humor

Cows...A Poem by Richard Armous Cows Do nothing but browse And drowse And now and then moo. That's all they do. Yet even while grazing They aren't lazing. Even while snacking They aren't slacking. If not illustrious Thay are inner industrious, Making milk with all their might. With every bite. Cream too, With every chew. I'd like it fine Could I combine In such measure Business with pleasure . Happy Friday from the Funky Art Queen.
