Green Thumb Passion

Oh...I am so inspired by memories of Mom's gardens of the past. I long for one of those country meals full of vegetables from the garden. We lived in the middle of a cotton field in my adolescent and teenager years. My parents grew gardens that I can only dream of now. I can remember the best meals that primarily were created from their garden stuffs. Oh black eyed peas, cornbread, tators, fresh sliced tomatoes, cantelope, fried squash and okra. I used to ask Mama to burn the okra just a little for me. Yumm! That is the inspiration for my little container gardens every year for the last few years.

I planted my tomatoes, jalapenos, and bell peppers in the container gardens in our backyard this evening. I also planted some radishes. I want to get some cilantro and some squash and okra and I will be satisfied.

I planted my little container garden right after work today. It is so therapeutic to come home and get right to the watering of my "garden". I find it very relaxing to care for my little plants.

Love your container garden. Your description of those home grown veggies was mouth watering. No okra for us though, in fact, I've never even tasted it. Keep us posted on the progress throughout the growing season. Take care, Susan

I also am growing veg in garden boxes, it's easier because they are raised and they grow really well.

Try some sqush or cucumber too!! they require a lot of water - it's like the more you water the bigg they get, you'll love it.

Mmm cilantro!
I have certainly enjoyed my little flowers in the back yard. Barry wanted to plant some tomatoes, peppers and few other things, but just haven't had time. Maybe this weekend...? Love ya, Renea

Paper Flowers and Fabric Flowers

Well, I'm kind of in a creative funk again. I hate it when this happens! I'm so glad that next weekend I am going to Fredricksberg, TX again to the trade days. I know it will inspire me in all kinds of directions. Meanwhile, while I am trying to get my groove back........I have been making a lot of little short term projects in the paper department. I made this little posey pin from faux vintage post/letters etc papers from the scrapbooking department. I actually wore it yesterday on my jacket. Then I spotted this book on Fabric Flowers by Elizabeth Helene Searle at the fabric store and I had to get it. I used her instructions to make this first fabric flower. I want to try several of her other flowers instructions. Now, what will I do with them? Who knows? Does it really matter if I am enjoying myself? Probably everyone will get fabric or paper flowers for Christmas! Heehee Have a great day.

Etsy Treasury

I got an ETSY Treasury today! Look what I made! Go and check out the real thing here, it took me an hour to figure out how to just get a snapshot for the above photo. Rediculous. YOu should be able to just have some html and share the dang thing! Anyway, here it is, I would appreciate any views and/or comments. Hugs

Some Work Humor

Cows...A Poem by Richard Armous Cows Do nothing but browse And drowse And now and then moo. That's all they do. Yet even while grazing They aren't lazing. Even while snacking They aren't slacking. If not illustrious Thay are inner industrious, Making milk with all their might. With every bite. Cream too, With every chew. I'd like it fine Could I combine In such measure Business with pleasure .
