A Christmas Long Ago Contest

Christmas is fast approaching......before you know it, St. Nick will have come and gone....cookies in his pockets...milk to go please. For some reason I was telling Renea ( Pocket Full of Pretty's ) about this photo of me and my step brother sitting on Santa's lap. I did not have this photo but I remembered it being in my mother's collection of pictures. I emailed my mom and she did all the hunting and scanning and sent it to me---thanks Mom. Mom tells me I was "3" and brother was "5". It just really made me happy to see this.....and a little sad. I miss "little" Ronnie. Anyway, I would love to see your favorite "Christmas Long Ago"pictures. Hmmmm......sounds like a good idea for a contest. Let's do it! A CHRISTMAS LONG AGO CONTEST Here are the rules! Prize INFO At the Bottom of this post! 1. Blog the photo from your favorite "Christmas Long Ago" and tell the story 2. Put a link to my blog in that entry and tell three ot...

Another artist interview

Raise your hand if you are tired of looking at the pic of my husband on my last blog?! Heehee. Not that he isn't cute and all, but we artists/creative people need lots of eye candy stimulation. We get bored so easy. My apologies for not blogging lately. I've been busy dahling! I have been commissioned to do a very large 48"X60" piece of art. Oh my goodness...just trying to get the canvas in my car carefully was an adventure. But, I got it home safely and I have been working on it every evening when I get off from work. So that is my excuse for being slow on the blog. Anyway, for now, let me point you to my other blog "I Must Share This" so you can meet "Sam" a new artist I discovered on Etsy. I think you will probably recognize her work if you are a big Etsy fan. Go and check out the interview. Comments welcome and encouraged!

Paper Clay Figures

I worked with clay all weekend and developed several figures/sculptures. This is one I have been working on for a week or so. I wanted to try a bust/head figure. She turned out to look a little like a spanish girl....go figure! I think she needs a rose in her hair. I also worked on a penguin for a little friends birthday. It should be done tonight. I have almost finished the love birds (remakes). I have the two funky birds that I discovered instructions for on the paperclay site. Then, I sculpted a cat that I have painted red and tonight she will become a funky cat with the rest of her features and designs to her coat. Oh, I sold a set of my Typography Blocks on Etsy this weekend. It really made my day. I made two more sets using my custom paper I created with the vintage pipeline maps and the font stickers. These sets are now available on my Etsy . Craig and I went to two estate sales Saturday and I think I have him hooked! He really enjoyed it. But, we need to get a navigational sys...

Meet This Artist

So, I sold my Typographic Blocks yesterday on Etsy. I plan to make more because truthfully, I really love them and plan to put some in the living room with all my other typographic things. They are just so interesting to me for some reason. But, what I really wanted to tell you about is the person who purchased them. I'm kinda nosey so I always have to go and see who bought my pieces. So, I went to her Etsy site , which led me to her blog , which led me to her web site. She calls herself "redbirthmark" as she was born with a birthmark on one of her hands. You just have to go and read about her and look at her fabulous art work!

Week End Etsy Sale

You Are Invited! You are invited to come and visit my Etsy shop Sale ! I am taking 25% off the current price of all items in my shop this weekend. The sale ends Sunday C.S.T. at 5 P.M. I am working on a shop update as well. It's just time to freshen up! Weekend Plans: There are a couple of garage sales I would like to attend this morning. A few had listed "antiques" we will see what those are. I'm going to work on Etsy update, art, and some of the redecorating work on Cody's old room. The usual housecleaning and laundry are on the agenda too. Have a great weekend. Hugs

Etsy Sale

I'm going to have an Etsy Sale this weekend! I am putting all of my items on sale for 25% off! The sale will start tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. Central Standard Time and will end at 5 p.m. on Sunday evening. Hopefully, I will make a few sells and reduce inventory. I have several new projects in the works and I am excitedly working to get them ready for posting in my Etsy shop . Meanwhile, I am also working on updating the entire shop look and feel. So, be on the lookout for that. Oh, and I have to tell you that my mother emailed me and told me she does (DOES) have the Alligator pattern and she is bringing it to me Friday when she comes! Yay! I found this picture on someones blog and I am pretty sure this is it. But, we will see when she brings it. Can't wait to show you my first alligator (or it may be my first attempt at a stuffed alligator-haha).

Typography

I suddenly find myself drawn to all things "typographic" or "fonts". I found these coasters on Etsy a few days ago and I have had them on my mind since. So, this morning, I decided to just get them for myself. I can't wait to get them. Here is the Etsy store that I purchased them from. She makes these often so if you like them, she probably has more. If you want to see more typography stuff, go and have a look at all the favorites I listed on My Favs on Etsy . I want that "All the Words Bird". It is so cute. I'm no design expert, but it seems like letters are everywhere and on everything for decorating your home. I think they add interest. I purchased some little glass balls with letters on them yesterday to put in a little iron birdbath as an ornament for a table. I just hope I don't go overboard. It will look like a school house! Heehee.....well I just wanted to share that with ya.
