Etsy Treasury

I got an ETSY Treasury today! Look what I made! Go and check out the real thing here, it took me an hour to figure out how to just get a snapshot for the above photo. Rediculous. YOu should be able to just have some html and share the dang thing! Anyway, here it is, I would appreciate any views and/or comments. Hugs

Butt Uglee Interview!

No, I'm not making some kind of mean remark about the person I interviewed. That is what she calls her art! Really! There is nothing ugly about Jennifer's folksie, outside the lines art. Please come to "I Must Share This" and read about her. Then, if you get a chance, go and check out her Etsy Shoppe! Peace and Love Hippie Sistahs! And please spread the news about my new blog "I Must Share This".

Pink Grapefruit Style Interview READY

Hey, you gotta come over to I MUST SHARE THIS to read my interview with Pink Grapefruit Style shoppe owner. Her name is Holly and she is very nice and offers us some great ideas for us Etsy people. She has the most awesome vintage findings in her shop and you have to keep watching her because she adds new things all the time and they go fast. So please come and take a look! Hugs to all and enjoy the long weekend.

Wine Bottle Decor

MY LATEST DESIGN! WINE BOTTLE NECKLACES So lets say you are taking a bottle of wine to that dinner party or that celebration. Wouldn't you like to bling it up a bit? Wouldn't you like to leave a little keepsake for the hostess? I have enjoyed making these and I am thinking of all kinds of ideas for the upcoming holidays. Oh, I also finished my next broken china blue willow charm bracelet. I sold the first one the day I listed it. So that got me excited. I thought, oh maybe this is it! This is that one thing that I will sell, sell, sell! Heehee So, of course I got started on bracelet number two and listed it today. I have to tell you that Renea , Lisa and I have been talking a lot about the catch 22 phenomenon that occurs for the creative entrepreneur. One of us, was commissioned to do several pieces of work much like one she already created. While she was thrilled and excited to make these big sells, it some what removed the creative joy....You know, doing the same thing ov...

Paper Clay Figures

I worked with clay all weekend and developed several figures/sculptures. This is one I have been working on for a week or so. I wanted to try a bust/head figure. She turned out to look a little like a spanish girl....go figure! I think she needs a rose in her hair. I also worked on a penguin for a little friends birthday. It should be done tonight. I have almost finished the love birds (remakes). I have the two funky birds that I discovered instructions for on the paperclay site. Then, I sculpted a cat that I have painted red and tonight she will become a funky cat with the rest of her features and designs to her coat. Oh, I sold a set of my Typography Blocks on Etsy this weekend. It really made my day. I made two more sets using my custom paper I created with the vintage pipeline maps and the font stickers. These sets are now available on my Etsy . Craig and I went to two estate sales Saturday and I think I have him hooked! He really enjoyed it. But, we need to get a navigational sys...

Meet This Artist

So, I sold my Typographic Blocks yesterday on Etsy. I plan to make more because truthfully, I really love them and plan to put some in the living room with all my other typographic things. They are just so interesting to me for some reason. But, what I really wanted to tell you about is the person who purchased them. I'm kinda nosey so I always have to go and see who bought my pieces. So, I went to her Etsy site , which led me to her blog , which led me to her web site. She calls herself "redbirthmark" as she was born with a birthmark on one of her hands. You just have to go and read about her and look at her fabulous art work!

To Focus or Not to Focus

So like, should I focus on one thing? Should I " doith one thing and do it well"? I wonder if I dabble to much in so many different types of media? It seems like a few people lately have made very kind and gentle comments that perhaps I should stick with my painting/mixed media type stuff. I don't think they are saying the jewelry is bad. I think they are saying that the jewelry is not all that different from a lot of the found object and metal jewelry you see now. It just does not really stand out. If I could stick with one art form, my craft room would be much less crowded! Well, probably not, because even with the mixed media (you can use all types of stuff). I wonder if I could keep myself interested enough to stay in the mixed media department. Another thing I am curious about is my "Funky Art Queen" title that I have been using for so long. I wonder if that is pretentious and a turn off to some. Or is it just the type of name that would draw the people w...

How To Create An Etsy Treasury List

How To Create an Etsy Treasury List and Why You Should Bother The Etsy Treasury List is just another way to help promote your fellow Etsy Artisian. Then, (even though it is not supposed to be a place for self promotion) hopefully those Etsy friends will return the favor. You can find the "Treasury" button on the home page of Etsy. Just click on it to take a glance at some of the lists. Basically, any Etsy member can create a list but only when the number of lists is below 333. It is really not that hard so I want you to get rid of the fear factor and just dig in.. Here are the steps in their most simple form. Just relax! 1. Turn on your computer (heehee....I'm sorry I could not help myself) 2 Log into Etsy ( You have to be logged in to create a "treasury" list. 3. Click on "Treasury" from the Etsy homepage...it is the second choice on the list...right below "colors". 4. Now, do you see at the top left where it says the number of lists? You ca...

Etsy Treasury

I very strategically worked on getting an etsy treasury today. I GOT ONE! I tried to list my blog friends that have an ETSY account. So, if you ever get one, please do the same for me. Go and check it out to see if you are on there and let me know if you have any sells as a result of this. Hugs to my blog friends. Me and My blog Friends Renea, I think I put two of your items up. I hope it results in success for you. Put your purses up and you will be rolling in the dough. Heehee

Gorilla Marketing our Etsy

GORILLA MARKETING YOUR ART Well, I must say, Blue Jade totally touched on the topic that I was going to discuss this evening. (Please see comments from yesterdays post.) OK hang onto your hats...here we go. Have you ever heard of the phrase "Gorilla Marketing"? I have seen many books about this topic in the business section of the book store, but none of them sparked my interest. I have also noticed several mentions about Gorilla Art in the blog and art book world. I just thought it meant to leave random little pieces of art in random places so you could make someones day! There is a book that further explains this concept by Keri Smith . My sister Rhea who is working on her MBA (and has experience in marketing) was able to help me wrap my brain around this concept. Let me just insert here her response to my asking her to explain: "Basically it means, instead of putting all of your money into a great big marketing campaign...you apply your wits and creative thinking to ...
