Typography Art

I made these rustic looking blocks that were of course inspired by Pocket Full of Prettys

pretty blocks and my new found love of typography. I was so inspired with the typography things I saw on Etsy that I had to do something of that nature. I'm really pleased with the weathered look of these blocks. I have also been working on this little typographic painting. I created this on a piece of wood. I used acrylics, stencils, alphabet stamps, and sandpaper to create a more weathered look.
Weekend Update: The interesting weekend I was hinting about turned out to be no big deal. I was asked to be a hostess for a man from France who is on a bicycle tour through the US. Lisa called me and told me her sister in San Angelo had housed this young 22 year old man for a night and he needed a place in Big Spring for one night. After much "you are kidding right?" and "no way" type conversation....I agreed to do it. I was so nervous about the whole thing. Turns out, he has a friend in Midland and is going there instead. Shew! Oh, the funny thing is my husband who is usually the fuddy duddy, was all for it. The guys name is Sebastian.....(here is a link to his blog) which is the same name as my Golden Retriever. That would have been comical I'm sure. It would have made great blog material but I just could not get over the idea that some stranger would be in my house. Lisa is supposed to get a link to his blog so we can see more about this young man. Anyway, have a good rest of Saturday. Hugs to all my blog friends!

How funny! That would have been funny to see his reaction to the puppies who would want to kill him! lol Love the typographic art. For a few years now I have looked for a typographic piece that was in the movie Monster in Law; that is what your stuff reminds me of. Funny. Anyway, love love love it! Hope you have a great weekend! Paper Flowers and Fabric Flowers

Well, I'm kind of in a creative funk again. I hate it when this happens! I'm so glad that next weekend I am going to Fredricksberg, TX again to the trade days. I know it will inspire me in all kinds of directions. Meanwhile, while I am trying to get my groove back........I have been making a lot of little short term projects in the paper department. I made this little posey pin from faux vintage post/letters etc papers from the scrapbooking department. I actually wore it yesterday on my jacket. Then I spotted this book on Fabric Flowers by Elizabeth Helene Searle at the fabric store and I had to get it. I used her instructions to make this first fabric flower. I want to try several of her other flowers instructions. Now, what will I do with them? Who knows? Does it really matter if I am enjoying myself? Probably everyone will get fabric or paper flowers for Christmas! Heehee Have a great day.

Etsy Treasury

I got an ETSY Treasury today! Look what I made! Go and check out the real thing here, it took me an hour to figure out how to just get a snapshot for the above photo. Rediculous. YOu should be able to just have some html and share the dang thing! Anyway, here it is, I would appreciate any views and/or comments. Hugs

Some Work Humor

Cows...A Poem by Richard Armous Cows Do nothing but browse And drowse And now and then moo. That's all they do. Yet even while grazing They aren't lazing. Even while snacking They aren't slacking. If not illustrious Thay are inner industrious, Making milk with all their might. With every bite. Cream too, With every chew. I'd like it fine Could I combine In such measure Business with pleasure . Happy Friday from the Funky Art Queen.
