Air Force Proud

Cody called this morning early. He said he did not have any more minutes left on his phone card and could he call us collect. We told him how to do that and hung up. Then we remembered we no longer have a land line. Just cell phones. It seemed really clever at the time to get rid of our land line to save a little money. So we waited, and waited, and stressed and fretted. Is he ok? How can he call us? How will we make it all week without hearing how he is? In the very far back of my mind, I knew that Cody would find a way to call us. He is and always has been a determined soul.

Finally, after a long 30 minutes of fretting and borrowing the neighbors cordless phone and phone number in case he called back.....I was going to give him the neighbor's number to call collect......he called back. He borrowed someone elses phone card. He called and he was so cheerful and upbeat. He told us that he got some kind of badge for his marksmanship for shooting a gun. He is not sure of his time on his running. He said it all seems like it has gone so fast. He told us so much. He said that when they practice the march for graduation, that when he looks over at the area where we will be standing, he gets a tear in his eye. That tells me how mature and knowing that he is. That's my boy. I am so very proud of him. I can't wait to hug him and tell him I am proud.

Here are some pics we are sending him tomorrow to keep him laughing and motivated until next week when we will be there in person to cheer him on. Please send him some prayers for strength, courage, and peace in his heart.

Hi girlie, of course I will keep Cody in my prayers! & for you too!& Heather & Criag! okay all of you! I know how proud you must feel. I felt the same way about Corey! It just makes your heart swell with pride! Wanted to say thanks for the block you gave me. I love it. Can't wait to work on it. I watched my 1st video tonight of my art class on line. It was soooo good. I learned so much in only 25 minutes. Hope to see you for lunch sometime this week! Love ya, Renea

Paper Flowers and Fabric Flowers

Well, I'm kind of in a creative funk again. I hate it when this happens! I'm so glad that next weekend I am going to Fredricksberg, TX again to the trade days. I know it will inspire me in all kinds of directions. Meanwhile, while I am trying to get my groove back........I have been making a lot of little short term projects in the paper department. I made this little posey pin from faux vintage post/letters etc papers from the scrapbooking department. I actually wore it yesterday on my jacket. Then I spotted this book on Fabric Flowers by Elizabeth Helene Searle at the fabric store and I had to get it. I used her instructions to make this first fabric flower. I want to try several of her other flowers instructions. Now, what will I do with them? Who knows? Does it really matter if I am enjoying myself? Probably everyone will get fabric or paper flowers for Christmas! Heehee Have a great day.

Etsy Treasury

I got an ETSY Treasury today! Look what I made! Go and check out the real thing here, it took me an hour to figure out how to just get a snapshot for the above photo. Rediculous. YOu should be able to just have some html and share the dang thing! Anyway, here it is, I would appreciate any views and/or comments. Hugs

Some Work Humor

Cows...A Poem by Richard Armous Cows Do nothing but browse And drowse And now and then moo. That's all they do. Yet even while grazing They aren't lazing. Even while snacking They aren't slacking. If not illustrious Thay are inner industrious, Making milk with all their might. With every bite. Cream too, With every chew. I'd like it fine Could I combine In such measure Business with pleasure . Happy Friday from the Funky Art Queen.
