Thanks Somerset Studio Gallery

I went to the book store today and flipped through the Sommerset Studio Gallery (Summer 2007) and finally...finally on page 180-I saw my picture. Yay~ I was so pleased. I don't think the man checking out magazines beside me at Barnes and Nobles understood my little squeal of excitement. But, I don't know him so it does not matter. Oh, thank you Lord. That is what I wanted. I just wanted to be published this year. Remember when I wrote my goals for this year and that was one thing I was shooting for? I have been published two times this year. So, I met my goals. I will have to go back and see what else I set for goals because it seems to me that this was the most important or highest priority. So, I did it. What's next?
I'm hoping to get an article published. I know, I'm not really a great writer. That is what my sister, Rhea, is for. Well, other than the obvious sisterly relationship and friendship...she is my editor. She will know how to make what I am trying to say look good. She is my life-long editor. She edits my resume and anything else I deem too important to just send along with all my imperfections.
I've been working on an article that I hope will get published in one of the magazines I love. I won't tell you about the subject so I don't jinx myself. I have written the rough draft-and I need to send it to Rhea-Rhea (sister) for editing and feedback.
So, all in all, it was a great day. Just seeing my picture in Sommerset Studio Gallery alone was enough to keep me happy for quite a while!

I'll tell you what I do, but it's seriously un-fun stuff! I do data entry for a direct marketing firm in our city--whenever you fill out something such as subscriptions, rebates, adding to mailing lists (ie JoAnn Fabrics), they have to go somewhere to be keyed. The pay is great if you type quickly but....my check isn't reliable. I never know what it'll end up being from payday to payday. If you still think it sounds 'all that', lol, look in your phonebook for direct marketing firms and see if they have a home operations department! xo

PS--yes I got your very nice email...and you're quite welcome!

Paper Flowers and Fabric Flowers

Well, I'm kind of in a creative funk again. I hate it when this happens! I'm so glad that next weekend I am going to Fredricksberg, TX again to the trade days. I know it will inspire me in all kinds of directions. Meanwhile, while I am trying to get my groove back........I have been making a lot of little short term projects in the paper department. I made this little posey pin from faux vintage post/letters etc papers from the scrapbooking department. I actually wore it yesterday on my jacket. Then I spotted this book on Fabric Flowers by Elizabeth Helene Searle at the fabric store and I had to get it. I used her instructions to make this first fabric flower. I want to try several of her other flowers instructions. Now, what will I do with them? Who knows? Does it really matter if I am enjoying myself? Probably everyone will get fabric or paper flowers for Christmas! Heehee Have a great day.

Etsy Treasury

I got an ETSY Treasury today! Look what I made! Go and check out the real thing here, it took me an hour to figure out how to just get a snapshot for the above photo. Rediculous. YOu should be able to just have some html and share the dang thing! Anyway, here it is, I would appreciate any views and/or comments. Hugs

Some Work Humor

Cows...A Poem by Richard Armous Cows Do nothing but browse And drowse And now and then moo. That's all they do. Yet even while grazing They aren't lazing. Even while snacking They aren't slacking. If not illustrious Thay are inner industrious, Making milk with all their might. With every bite. Cream too, With every chew. I'd like it fine Could I combine In such measure Business with pleasure .
