Well, SabiiWabii got me and I have to say that I am intrigued by this Tag! It requires a little more creativity than most of these type of activities. Meet This Artist

So, I sold my Typographic Blocks yesterday on Etsy. I plan to make more because truthfully, I really love them and plan to put some in the living room with all my other typographic things. They are just so interesting to me for some reason. But, what I really wanted to tell you about is the person who purchased them. I'm kinda nosey so I always have to go and see who bought my pieces. So, I went to her Etsy site , which led me to her blog , which led me to her web site. She calls herself "redbirthmark" as she was born with a birthmark on one of her hands. You just have to go and read about her and look at her fabulous art work!

Vintage Findings

My Garage Sale Adventures Yesterday I love Garage Sales. It has become a bit of a habit for me to go to them on Saturday mornings. Do I need anything? NO. Do I know what I am looking for? NO. Do I care? NO! It's the thrill of the hunt! I have to tell you about my findings from yesterdays garage sale adventure. Check out this photo and I will tell you all about it. First, I found the Blue Willow bowl for a quarter. I can't find any cracks or chips. I have always loved blue willow and the story that goes with it. Then, I found the baggy full of vintage jewelry pieces for 50 cents. I went to another garage sale and found the two vintage sewing machines, the little typewriter, and the rotary phone for 12.00! For all of it. The poor sewing machines were covered in dirt, it looks like the owners had left them outside. Poor things. I feel like I rescued them. Isn't that silly? I cleaned them up and posed them for this pic. One will definitely be incorporated into the

Week End Etsy Sale

You Are Invited! You are invited to come and visit my Etsy shop Sale ! I am taking 25% off the current price of all items in my shop this weekend. The sale ends Sunday C.S.T. at 5 P.M. I am working on a shop update as well. It's just time to freshen up! Weekend Plans: There are a couple of garage sales I would like to attend this morning. A few had listed "antiques" we will see what those are. I'm going to work on Etsy update, art, and some of the redecorating work on Cody's old room. The usual housecleaning and laundry are on the agenda too. Have a great weekend. Hugs

Etsy Sale

I'm going to have an Etsy Sale this weekend! I am putting all of my items on sale for 25% off! The sale will start tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. Central Standard Time and will end at 5 p.m. on Sunday evening. Hopefully, I will make a few sells and reduce inventory. I have several new projects in the works and I am excitedly working to get them ready for posting in my Etsy shop . Meanwhile, I am also working on updating the entire shop look and feel. So, be on the lookout for that. Oh, and I have to tell you that my mother emailed me and told me she does (DOES) have the Alligator pattern and she is bringing it to me Friday when she comes! Yay! I found this picture on someones blog and I am pretty sure this is it. But, we will see when she brings it. Can't wait to show you my first alligator (or it may be my first attempt at a stuffed alligator-haha).

Etsy Pounce

Help I'm Pouncing and I can't stop. I gotta get ready for work but all I want to do is Pounce on Etsy! I love the randomness of it. I usually look at the "just sold" part but occasionally I will look and the new and undiscovered Etsy items. If you have not pounced yet, go over and give it a try and don't be surprised if you have a little trouble stopping. I'm going to be updating my shop this weekend! So be watching for some new stuff. Tonight I will be posting about an awsome sale I will be having this weekend starting tomorrow at 9:am through 5 pm on Sunday. Happy Friday, Oh thank the Lord! Yay! Hugs

Mixed Media Art

This is my latest mixed media piece, I named it "P is for Party". It was fun to play with the paints and other media to create this collage/mixed media piece. I want to say thanks to all the brave alligator hunters. We have not turned up the pattern I need yet. But, keep looking and remember me if you find an alligator. This weekend we had to go up to San Antonio again to take Cody his truck as he is now allowed to have it. He does not have off base privileges yet but that base is so huge, it will be nice for him to get around in his truck instead of walking everywhere. Cody's fiance went with us. Can you believe this is the only picture I took? I was definitely not on my game. I enjoyed seeing him so much. We did not get to take him off base but we entertained ourselves by shopping on base, eating etc. We stayed at the hotel on the base and it was very nice and the price was so much better than when we stayed off base several weeks ago for his graduation. We will defin

Alligator Stuffed Animal

I don't know why, but I have been thinking about a stuffed alligator my mother made for my sisters (probably in the 80's) and I want to find that pattern. I have asked my Mom (via email) if she has the pattern (no answer yet) and I have searched all over the internet. I can't find the pattern. I don't know what brand it was ..... "McCalls, Simplicity, or whateverelse was available back then. I just know that I want to make an alligator and I don't have a pattern. So, if any of you have any information available about a vintage pattern to make stuffed alligators, let me know.....I won't rest until I have an alligator.....oh I will rest. I just like to add some drama. Please, I have an APB out on a stuffed alligator pattern. Help me find the pattern. PLEASE Hugs Lesley

Sweet Baby Birds

I was at a physicians office marketing yesterday and one of the patients who is a friend of mine pointed out this little nest on the eaves of the physicians office. I thought they were so cute and definitely "blog material" that I ran home to get my camera and came back to take their picture. They look like they are ready to fly any day. I just had to share this pic with you. It's almost Friday!~ hang in their girls! Hugs Lesley

Three Wishes

This is a piece I created in my journal on the way to San Antonio the weekend we attended Cody's graduation. I finally scanned it and gave it a little frame (digitally). It is kind of a happy little piece. I did this with prisma color pencils and some inks. I may have to get some prints of this one. I feel like doing some more pics with the prisma colors soon. I have one in mind. I want to do another version of the "My Soul Glides on Wings". I just really like that one and love that it was inspired by Marc Chagall. So, hopefully I will create something of that nature soon. Well, I hope everyone out there in blog land is doing great. Remember, conserve gas (prices going up up up) and for heavens sakes DON'T EAT TOMATOES UNLESS YOU GROW THEM YOURSELF!!!!! HEEHEE

The Pink Artist Project

I finally finished my runner up prize art donation for the Pink Artist Project for Breast Cancer Awareness. I used a beautiful pink printed fabric for the fabric beads. I used fresh water pearls and rose quartz for the accent beads. A wonderful friend of mine donated a bracelet to me that had the pink ribbons on it. After much trial in design of the necklace, I decided to only use one of them for the center pendant. It is a really pretty piece to wear and I hope you win it. I just have to say that I believe this is an awsome project...and I'm so proud of Monica for diving into this huge project. I admire her for her selflessness and drive to help others. Please take a moment to consider contributing to this. Take a look here: Susan G. Komen for the Cure . On another note, I am so proud and excited about my latest necklace that I designed. I called it "Sun, Moon, and Stars". I think it turned out well. I have listed it and several other new things in my shop . Hope you wil

Back From Graduation

Sorry it has been so long since I blogged. I was deathly ill (no kidding) from last Saturday-Thursday with stomach flu. OK, I wasn't dying but I felt like I was. It was such a fun way to spend Memorial (3 day) weekend. I did not do one piece of art or even think of art. Just had a lot of one on one time with me in the bathroom. So, Wednesday, sickly me and Craig and Heather left for San Antonio to go and see our boy graduate from boot camp (Air Force). It was a lovely week of activities leading up to graduation on Friday. We got to see him Thursday at the coin ceremony. At orientation we found out Cody was graduating with honors. He looked so handsome in his uniform. He is so grown up in his mannerisms and behavior. I just can't believe it is him. But, he is still our Cody with his wit and humor and mischief. Just more grown up and very proud. I hope to start getting a lot of things done. So keep an eye out for updates on my art stuff and my life. Oh, if you want to see more p
